It’s all about the 90’s

While the 1980’s focused on oversized hair, shoulder pads, and bright colors the 1990’s was much more subdued.  The rebellious teens of this time  often tore their own clothes as a sign on individuality. Ripped denim, plaids and leather jackets were some of the more popular pieces of this time that continue to rule the fashion world.  Saint Laurent even called upon Courtney Love for their most recent campaign. Trends always come back, and we can’t wait to tie our flannels around our waists like Joey Russo did in Blossom.

Japan’s Spring Fashion Week was incredible! Designers such as Araisara, Corazon Del Alma, and GVGV used beautiful bright and colorful prints perfect for the Spring Season. GVGV also used an assortment of trims to create their belts which included pom-pom fringe, ric-rac, and tape trim. Hiroko Koshino showed artful work with a beautiful gowns and printed metallic stockings. Miss Ashida was an all time favorite not sticking to one theme for the collection but rather mixed with interesting prints, light colors, tweed fabric and statement accessories. Japan’s fashion week was definitely a hit for Spring, can’t wait to see some of these fabulous pieces on some well respected fashionista’s.
