Hollywood reporters often obsess over new moms, often overshadowing the men. This Father’s Day we’ve decided to give credit to some of the men in Hollywood that prove parenting is based on teamwork. Badgley Mischka invoked a “timeless glamour” of White Mischief. Colors included fresh powdery pink, mint greens, and icy blues. The designer’s style including sheer layers, high waists, draped one-shoulder gowns, and an African inspired with crafty embroideries and macramé weaving.
Carolina Herrera collection had a ladylike elegance. Key items included shift dresses tied with obi-inspired sashes or trimmed with flat obi-like bows, full-blown red carpet dresses, and floor-sweeping full skirts. With colours of sharp graphic mix of black and white, poppy red, zingy orange, orchid pink and pine green. The collection used satin, organza, silk tweed fabric and embroideries, multi-top stitching, appliqués and ultra-fine ties trimmings.
Donna Karan’s collection was Light and wispy, couture-like romance. Key items from the collection long bias slip dress with front slit, ribbon-tie-front canvas car coat, pale gold filigree hand-embroidered tulle evening dress, long-slit crushed-chiffon shirt dress, and scoop-neck gown with patches of jersey twist. With colour such as vanilla, jute, nude, honey, pale gold and antique cream. With Silk charmeuse, stretch satin, raw silk, chiffon, leather and tulle fabrics and trims included signature tie bows.
Marc Jacobs collection has a daytime disco feel, with gathered strapless dresses, belted trench, a-line leather skirt, long dresses in multi-wrapped and gathered silk, sequined chiffon cape gown, liquid-silk one-shoulder dress with wide belt, and cream strapless with stripes of gold and silver sequins; With colors of peach, deep camel, burgundy, gold, black, orange, cream and fuchsia. His collection included silk, satin, silk jersey, leather, and chiffon fabrics with geo-tribal gold neckline hardware, cascade sequins, palm tree in gold sequins, and sequin stripes trims.
Marchesa’s collection themed ancient royalty, key items from the collection included Hand-painted floral “oyster” dress with full skirt, silk lace jumpsuit, ultra suede laser-cut dress with sculpted sleeve detail, cropped black silk jacket, one-shoulder satin georgette dress with embroidered cascade shoulder and waist. With glamorous colors of pearl, ebony, mint, midnight blue, deep plum, and rose. Trims included beaded embroidery and chiffon, tulle, lace and organza fabrics.
Tommy Hilfiger’s collection envisioned high summers in the Hamptons. Key items included sexy halterneck or back-bearing flat pleated dresses, flirty crystal pleat skirts, and broderie trench coat. Colours included rose pink, sand, pistachio, red, white, navy and yellow. The collection had embroidered silk taffetas, grosgrain, cotton seersucker, polished cotton, and summer tweeds fabrics. Trimmings from the collection Subtle nautical trims such as striped grosgrain waistbands and button facings, horn buttons, and contrast braid edging.
