Here is another way to add your own personal touch and style to your home from what you already own. I would like to share with you two quick and easy ways to remodel your lamp.
- Start by choosing your trim.
- Once you have decided on your trim you can glue the trim to the lamp, for this project E600 would hold the trim best.
- For the first lamp I decided to go with a funkier look with a feather trim.
- Then I glued a braided trim over the feather trim to give it a neater look.
- My second idea was more traditional, using this black brush fringe.
- You also have the option of cutting the extra string off the bottom to give it a more elegant look.
Leather and nailheads are all the rage this season, and I don’t think there going anywhere next season either. Join the fun by making your own leather studded bracelet, its just three easy steps to becoming part of a massive fashion trend.
I had some braided leather cord, and left over nailheads lying around, thinking of something to make I decided on a bracelet. It’s simple and easy and a great way to get creative with leftover trimmings. I hope you enjoy this DIY.
Step 1: Cut the Vinyl Braid to 26inches
Step 2: Take one of the two pieces from the closure and sew one end of the braid to it. Then sew the other end of the braid to the other closure (Make sure you place the braid on top of the closure when sewing)
Step 3: Take the one SS30 nailhead and push the prongs through the braid and leather closure, (push the prongs inward to aviod stratching when wearing) now the other closure. Finally place SS20 nailheads on sections of the braid. (I used 14 but you can put as many as you like)
The weather is starting to get a little breezy and that is definitely a sign that summer is long gone. That means it is time to put away those summer clothes and bring out the warmer clothes for Fall. Fall is usually a fashionista’s favorite time of the year. It is not too cold nor is it too hot. It is a perfect time to wear comfortable and trendy clothing. This week, we brought out the classic black blazer and embellished it with a variety of Swarovski buttons, crystal trims, pearl strands and braided lace or frogs. Below, you will see a before picture and above is after the alteration. It is very easy to get this chic look with simple supplies and instructions.
You can see there is a big difference in the before and after image. This Fall, dramatically embellished garments are very popular. For the blazers, you will notice in a lot magazines that the shoulders are embellished with different materials. A lot of deisgners are using fringe, and feathers. However, crystal jewels are the most used to embellish blazers. Why spend thousands of dollars when you can create your own unique look. For the unique look on the blazer, I mainly used Swarovski buttons andvarious trims.
- Pin the lace on top of the shoulder according to how you feel it fits best. Then either stitch on the lace or use Unique Stitch glue. It works just like a needle when applying fabric on fabric.
- Decide where you would like to add the buttons on the shoulder and easily stitch them on using the needle. It is really up to you how you want to design the shoulder. The main idea is to make it dramatic.
- Add the pearl strands and rhinstone trim along the side and then add a button over where you started the trim.
- Do not forget to replace all the old buttons with a different style of glass buttons. When you do this, your friends will barely notice it is the same blazer from last year.
- When it is done, then you are ready to wear it and show it off.

Today’s project is a beaded trim bracelet. You can make this bracelet as a gift for your mom, for yourself, for prom or a nice evening out. It’s an easy way to accessorize in only a few minutes. The steps are really easy and you can use the same instructions to make matching headbands or belt also. Here’s the detail.
- Measure the ribbon and along the center, add glue along the six inches in the center.
- Slowly add the beaded trim on top of the glue.
- Leave it to dry and you’re done.
If you want to make a headband, you can use a longer ribbon and it’s the same instruction. The same instruction also applies to creating a belt. When it dries, you can tie it up and you’re done.
