Our first Project DIY collection of 2014 recalls a not too distant past when seductive sirens lit up the silver screen. From the dimly lit alleyways of New York City to the rolling hills of Hollywood, the femme fatales of the 1940s were our muses for this month’s collection, Film Noir.
We adored the look of silky satin, a staple of these leading ladies. While we couldn’t put an entire dress in this collection, the smooth look and feel of this fabric is definitely represented.
Inspired by the sharply contrasted look of old detective dramas, the Film Noir collection features a limited color palette. It’s perfect for those who like to make a sophisticated statement.
We think that the ladies of the Film Noir genre had a certain undeniable charm which played an influential role in our collection.
So what do you think the latest Project DIY collection holds in store? We would love to hear your guesses in the comment section!

Not all spikes are made equal. The “spikes” used in this P.S. I Made This DIY are more like stakes that have been painted gold. They’re the perfect addition to take your trench from tired to bold!
Have you created crafts with spikes before? If you found it difficult to pierce the fabric with conventional scissors, we suggest using a leather hole punch! We would love to see YOUR spiked DIYs. Show us whatcha got!
