Staying warm and chic during fashion week has never looked better. Our latest 4 Ways to Embellish feature will show off the best ways to impress everyone with your little black sweater. Bring out your inner diva by adding a bold fringe to your shoulder sleeves. This simple transformations will have every style photographer looking your way.

SUPPLIES
Black Sweater
E-6000 Glue
Scissors
50MM Chainette Fringe with chain

STEPS
Lay your 50MM Chainette Fringe with chain trim on the smallest part of your sleeve. You can either wrap the trim around or focus on one side.
If you’re only highlighting one side, cut the strip from one end to the other.
If you want to have fringe on the front and backside, wrap the trim around the sleeve. 
Cut the trim at the desired location.

DSC_0044Continue doing this until you have completed your entire sleeve.
This will allow you to lay our the 50MM Chainette Fringe with chain trim in the desired location.

Four Ways: Embellished Neckline Sweater DIY

Turn up the glam factor by embellishing the collar of your sweater with beaded appliqués.

SUPPLIES
55 x 55MM Hot-Fix R.S. Motif
E-6000
Sweater- Ours was from H&M

STEPS

Apply a small amount of glue on the back of your 55 x 55MM Hot-Fix R.S. Motif.
HINT: We placed a piece of oak tag in between our sweater ensuring that the glue would not go through the other end of the sweater.DSC_5114Apply a small amount of pressure on the 55 x 55MM Hot-Fix R.S. Motif making sure the glue has set in.

DSC_5117Continue this technique for each of your 55 x 55MM Hot-Fix R.S. Motifs. We outlined the neck, but experiment with your pattern.

Four Ways: Leather and Chain Sleeved Sweater DIY

Rock the runway by adding a faux leather trim to your sleeves.

SUPPLIES
1 1/4″ Faux Leather with chain
Flat Plier
Scissors
Magna-Tac Glue
Sweater(Ours was from H&M)

Supplies

STEPS
Measure the 1 1/4″ Faux Leather with chain around the wristband. Leave a bit of room prior to cutting so the 1 1/4″ Faux Leather with chain trim will remain comfortable.

DSC_5122Since this 1 1/4″ Faux Leather with chain contains leather and chain, mark the area that you would like to cut.
This will make the cutting process much easier.
Using your flat pliers, separate the chain.

DSC_5125Once the chain is separated, cut the leather trim.
Repeat this for both sleeves.

Wrap the 1 1/4″ Faux Leather with chain around the wristband, and attach each end using your flat fliers.
Feel free to use your Magna Tac Glue to ensure the stability of your trim.

Floral Sweater D.I.Y

Upon seeing Oscar De La Renta’s Spring 2013 collection, we were in awe.  The floral embellishments had been kicked into high gear leaving us with waves of excitement. Clearly we were left with no choice but to recreate an affordable but just as fabulous piece using M&J products.

INSPIRATION:

SUPPLIES:

Crew Neck Sweater ($7 at K-mart)

Rosette By Yard(21 Rosettes) in Light Pink

Flower By The Yard 1 1/2″

Needle

Thread

Scissors

STEPS:

Cut each rosette individually.

Now individually cut out each flower from the other trim.

Lay out the flowers in a design that you’re fond of.
We spaced the flowers out but feel free to play around with the layout.

Pin down each flower once you have finalized your design.

Begin sewing each flower onto the sweater.
