With the holidays quickly approaching, many of us are scrambling to put together some festive and stylish outfits. This season is all about adding a bling to your outfit, and Project DIY designer, Michelle Levy, knows all about the sparkle of the holidays. For the holiday Project DIY collection centered around the theme of Baroque n’ Roll, Michelle created some truly dazzling DIYs for you to make at home. If you already have the latest Project DIY collection at home and need another craft project to sate your DIY appetite, then read on and see how Michelle made this easy no-sew holiday headband (a previous contender for the latest collection)! Although if you DO have the Baroque n’ Roll collection, sewing is a skill you’ve probably picked up while making the Gem and Lace Turban.

Beaded trim can play double duty as both a trim and an applique! Just cut out each shape individually, making sure not to cut any of the threads holding the beads in place. Here Michelle is cutting out each leaf shape using the mesh backing as a guide.

The No-Sew Holiday Headband DIY PlacementOnce the appliques are cut out, place them whichever pattern you like. Play around with different combinations and layouts. When you’ve settled on a layout, glue it down!

M&J Trimming Goes Abroad

5

M&J Trimming is going across the pond, over the river, through the woods! Well, sort of. We’re going to be offering our international customers something to make their M&J Trimming shopping experience much easier.
M&J Trimming Interior

Hundreds of people walk through our story every day, and many of them are visiting from all over the world! We are so fortunate to have customers from every corner of the earth because we get to hear their amazing stories, check out their fashion-forward styles, and ask what DIYs they’ll be working on with what they pick up at the store. Unfortunately, when they’re home their accessibility to M&J Trimming’s eclectic items is restricted.

M&J Trimming ExteriorSure, international customers have been able to order our incredible trim, gorgeous rhinestones and beautiful buttons over the phone; but with time differences being what they are, that can prove to be a little inconvenient. That’s why we’ve introduced international shipping for online orders!

M&J Trimming Interior

International customers can now experience the same convenience of buying a button whenever they see fit: on their commute in the Tube,  while looking at inspiring masterpieces in the Louvre, or walking across the Great Wall of China. (How many bars can you get on the Great Wall anyway?)

International Shipping | M&J Trimming

While we love seeing your faces and hearing your stories when you visit, we’re happy to be able to bring a little bit of M&J Trimming to you in a convenient and simple way. We can’t wait to see what you create now that you have easy access to all of our trims!

Top 3 Ribbon DIY Bracelets

1

Ribbons can be used for many purposes. Due to the many types of ribbons there are many ways they can be used. We’ve dedicated this post to some of our favorite ribbon bracelet tutorials. Inspiration & Realisation uses silk ribbon and charms to create a wrapped charm bracelet. This bracelet is perfect for those summer days when you want to throw on a lightweight piece of jewelry. The chain bracelet has been a staple among the blogger community. The ribbon and chain contrast adds a hard and soft edge to any outfit. Trinkets in Bloom also toughens up her ribbon adding spikes to the often delicate trim. We can’t wait to try out all three DIYs.

DIY Velvet Gift Bow

6

We’ve been busy brainstorming gift wrapping ideas for the holidays, and we recently came up with this lovely DIY gift bow. We used some gorgeous velvet ribbon from our store to create this adorable bow, which will probably be gracing all of our gifts this season. Check out our DIY below!

1. Cut three 10-inch strips of ribbon, then three 9-inch strips, then two 8-inch strips, and one 3-inch strip.

2. Take a 10-inch piece, and fold each of the ends into the center to create a figure-8 shape, like seen below. Make sure the velvet side is on the outside. Staple together in the center.

3. Do the same thing for all of the other strips, and staple each of them in the center to hold them together. Turn the 3-inch strip into a loop, then staple it together.

4. Using small dots of glue in the center of each piece, glue the 10-inch pieces on top of each other so they are evenly spaced out. Then glue the 9-inch pieces on top, followed by the 8-inch pieces.

5. Using one last dot of glue, add the loop to the center of the bow, then you’re all set!

DIY Lace Collar

6

Collars have been a huge trend for a while now, so it’s about time that we’ve whipped up a DIY version. We have an incredible selection of lace in our store, so we whipped up a vintage-style lace collar that will look adorable on a summer dress or blouse. Keep reading to find out how to make your own!

Supplies:

1. Cut the lace into 2 pieces, each one about 8 inches long. Make sure you trim the ends so it won’t fray.

2. Using your needle and thread, sew together the top corners of the two pieces of lace. This will be the front of the collar.

3. Cut the white ribbon into two pieces. Fold about 1/2 inch of one ribbon over itself on the end to make it more sturdy, then sew it to one of the top corners at the back of the collar. Do the same with the other ribbon.

4. Now you’re all done! Simply place the collar in front of your neck, then tie the ribbons together in the back to hold in place.
