Street style photographers are constantly on the hunt for the next big thing, and we’re no exception. Let’s set the scene for you…imagine a group of photographers swarming as if Paris Hilton were entering a room, circa 2008. Wouldn’t you be expecting someone incredible? To our dismay it was simply a man wearing a bedazzled pair of pants. Here at M&J that’s nothing special.
We love seeing what goes down the runway during fashion week. However, it is often the show-goers that are dressed to impress. We observed some of fashion’s finest in their natural playground, New York Fashion Week. We loved seeing what outfits are donned by the men and women behind our fashion magazines.
Eva Chen of Lucky Magazine donning a floral frock
Grace Coddington wearing a black and white number.
Bill Cunningham doing what he does best.
Anna del Russo rocking killer heels.
New York Fashion Week has ended however we can’t stop looking back at all of the amazing collections. One of our favorite designers happened to be Delpozo. Showing in New York for only the second time, this Madrid based label has been making quite a stir in the fashion community. The strong silhouettes in conjunction with the beautiful tailoring allows these pieces to glisten across the catwalk. Here at M&J we can assure you this brand is the one to watch.
Nothing makes a bolder statement than a statement accessory against a classic yet modern outfit. There were so many standout pieces that were worn during NYFW that we are still thinking about them a week later! We love all of the cool pieces below! Which are your favorites?
The Diesel Black Gold presentation during NYFW last week was filled with edgy inspiration! Studded jeans, skirts, and jackets walked their runway in a very simple and cool way. With our addiction to our iron-on nailhead trims, we now have some new ideas on how to put them to use!
There have been some amazing beauty looks spotted on the runways this season but two in particular caught our eyes. The models in Kate Spade‘s presentation had simple yet cool manicures that could easily be replicated using our stud nailheads and a little nail glue! Kimberly Ovitz‘s models sported a really cool hairdo that we can’t help but want to DIY with some of our cord trims. We can’t wait to try out these looks!
Fashion Week has already begun in New York City and we can’t help but be heavily inspired. From the runway shows to the amazing streetstyle to all of the fashion afterparties that grace our city, there are so many potential DIY projects to be made! We are definitely looking at all of our lace, fur, leather, and metallic trims in a new light!
We had the pleasure of attending the LUCA LUCA Spring/Summer Fashion Show this year and the collection was just as expected, Beautiful! The collection from last year was leaning more towards trendy chic, but this year it was all about the sexy causual look. With off-the-shoulder dresses, lightly embellished tops and tailored tops. One of my favorite looks that I fell in love with was the white halter dress with exposing cutout and sheer sequined sleeves. Take a look at some of the pieces from his collection below, what do you think?

Douglas Hannant Show was everything that I want in a show, beautiful coats, gowns, tailored skirts and beaded shirts. Everything was Glitz and Glam, a collection I would love to have in my closet for the museum parties and shows I dont attend :(. Trims included fox fur, beaded trims, crystal belts attached bullion cords, leather skinny belts, and sequin. Overall it was an amazing show and held The Plaza which made it even better!!
