New York Fashion Week Spring 2015 Recap Part 2

2

Fashion Week is drawing to a close. Thank goodness we have all of these beautiful clothes and accessories to look forward to this coming spring! downloadThe looks at Donna Karan New York were eclectic and urban-inspired. An ode to the great city of New York, these looks wouldn’t look out of place on a quirky Manhattanite.

download (1)We love rock and roll, and so does Tommy Hilfiger! His collection was brimming with rock show-stopping details like metallic stripes, studs, and leather.

BLOG_SS15_Burch_480_new_12Tory Burch has a relaxed and global vibe this season. Mixing refined style with raw edges makes this a perfect for a bohemian-at-heart who happens to be stuck in a less than free-spirited setting. Plus: tropical toile. Need we say more?KIM_1954At Libertine we got a look at an array of eclectic embellishments that make any outfit party-ready.

New York Fashion Week: After the shows

Rather than busting into Lincoln Center, we enjoyed our time outside people watching.  You’ll find editors, fashion leaders, models and obviously inspiration.  Even if you’re not invited to the shows, we suggest hanging outside of them, you never know who you may run into.

NYFW Street Style

Street style photographers are constantly on the hunt for the next big thing, and we’re no exception.  Let’s set the scene for you…imagine a group of photographers swarming as if Paris Hilton were entering a room, circa 2008. Wouldn’t you be expecting someone incredible? To our dismay it was simply a man wearing a bedazzled pair of pants. Here at M&J that’s nothing special.

New York Fashion Week: Delpozo

4

New York Fashion Week has ended however we can’t stop looking back at all of the amazing collections.  One of our favorite designers happened to be Delpozo. Showing in New York for only the second time, this Madrid based label has been making quite a stir in the fashion community. The strong silhouettes in conjunction with the beautiful tailoring allows these pieces to glisten across the catwalk. Here at M&J we can assure you this brand is the one to watch.  Delpozo

Emerald Street Style

2

In years past, Fashion Week was solely intended to showcase a designer’s collection. Now it has become a who’s who, and who’s wearing what in the fashion world. With the rise of social media outlets fashion week revolves around much more than the designers. Those attending shows now dress to impress ( fashion photographers that is) We at M&J can not handle how great some of the fashion selections have been. The D.I.Y options are endless; we’re already stocking up on fur, feathers, rhinestones and studs. Here is a recap of our favorite emerald green street style recaps from New York, Paris, and Milan Fashion Week.

Highlights From Douglas Hannant Fall 2011

By Blerona

Check out the rest of the higlights from 2011 Fall NYC Fashion Week shows we attended:

Douglas Hannant Show was everything that I want in a show, beautiful coats, gowns, tailored skirts and beaded shirts. Everything was Glitz and Glam, a collection I would love to have in my closet for the museum parties and shows I dont attend :(.  Trims included fox fur, beaded trims, crystal belts attached bullion cords, leather skinny belts, and sequin. Overall it was an amazing show and held The Plaza which made it even better!!

Highlights From Stephen Burrows Fall 2011

Check out the rest of the higlights from 2011 Fall NYC Fashion Week shows we attended:

Stephen Burrows show was something else, though I wasn’t obessed with fashion in the 90′s, one of the attendees next to us told us after the show that it reminded her for the 90′s fashion shows when models had attitude and were alive on the runway. Besides the captivating models, the collection itself was vibrant and beautiful, there was so much soul in each outfit.
