This season fashionistas are going full-force with faux fur! We’re seeing the most stylish ladies rocking colorful coats that have a life of their own whenever the wind picks up. We love this over-the-top style, and it sure helps that you get to walk around in a comfy cozy blanket! Years ago faux fur was met with looks of disdain, but the game has changed and now we’re seeing this unique textile in high-quality finishes and fun colors. Another added bonus of going faux? The lower price tag means more room for experimentation. You want a hot pink fur coat that is guaranteed to only be on trend for one season? You do it.

When it comes to Fashion Week, the hottest styles aren’t just on the runways. Style icons strut the streets of Lincoln Center on their way to see the latest collections wearing some of the best outfits. Lucky for us, the snow didn’t stop these trendsetters from making their way out this year! Here were some of our favorite looks from NYFW Fall/Winter 2014!
We saw a lot of fur at Fashion Week, colored fur. Fashionistas donned fur stoles and coats in bold and brash hues for a fashion punch. If you want to test out this popular trend without having to buy a super expensive statement piece, make a hat with our pom poms that come in fantastic colors!
Off duty models kept it cool and casual with neutral ensembles. Judging from the blue hair streaks and dramatic winged liner, their looks on the runway were the opposite of their outfits.
This jacket from Moschino paired with the athletic knee-socks adds a playful touch to the gloomy winter.
Wearing winter white was another common thread that we loved seeing. It’s so clean and fresh! Just be careful when crossing the street because you might blend in with a snowstorm. Seriously, this winter has been crazy.

Floral Prints have been a key feature on the runway. The nature infused trend has been revamped in a major way. Designers have been using various mediums such as fur, lace, beads, fabric and appliques to incorporate these patterns. Below are some of our favorite floral runway pieces that give us the urge to create some of our very own pieces.
In years past, Fashion Week was solely intended to showcase a designer’s collection. Now it has become a who’s who, and who’s wearing what in the fashion world. With the rise of social media outlets fashion week revolves around much more than the designers. Those attending shows now dress to impress ( fashion photographers that is) We at M&J can not handle how great some of the fashion selections have been. The D.I.Y options are endless; we’re already stocking up on fur, feathers, rhinestones and studs. Here is a recap of our favorite emerald green street style recaps from New York, Paris, and Milan Fashion Week.
