Global Influences for Fashion

4

Here at M&J we are always looking for the next big thing but sometimes we don’t have to look too far…

The melting pot we call New York City is filled with culture and diversity. Everyone makes an impression on one another the moment they step out on the sidewalk. Due to the cultural abundances and global influences there is an endless amount of fashion inspiration. Having a store located in the Garment District allows us to truly appreciate our Global presence. Our location allows us to welcome tourists from all over the globe and experience their culture.

Highlights from Spring 2012 Menswear

3

With Menswear Spring 2012 at an end and Fall 2011 Couture already starting. I pulled together some of my favorite collections for menswear. And of course all of these designers are a favorite of mines for women’s fashion as well. 3.1 Phillip Lim collection had interesting pieces, but the tie-dye pieces were  most interesting of all. Burberry Prorsum’s collection had bright colors and ikat patterns great look for men in the Spring. Salvatore Ferragamo did an excllent job of capturing the casual beach look but with so much class. Netting defined the collection for Dolce & Gabbana. But my all time favorite for Menswear Spring 2012 was Hermes collection, every piece had a causual luxury feel.

Fall is here and its time to do some major shopping. What I love doing at the beginning of every season before I go shopping is look through that season’s fashion week. Looking through 2010 Fall Fashion Week, I came across Dolce & Gabbana’s line and I was in love with this pendant/pin that kept showing up on each model walking down the runway and I knew that I had to have it or something like it. Of course my shopping budget doesn’t allow me to spend $200  on an accessory, but i desperately wanted something like it, so I decided to make my own and I’m in love. Tell me what you think!

Materials:

Directions Are So Simple!!

  • Each trim has it own loop, simply slide each pendant onto the pin. Then take the chain open one of the link and attach it to one side of the pin. Then open the other end of the line and attach it to the side of the pin.
  • For a better hold you can attach the pendants to the other side of the safety pin so they don’t move.
