Ever since my last refashion blog on my old peacoat,  I’ve been in a sort of  Re-fashion-State-of-mind and I  needed to fill my craving by whipping up another re-fashion blog this time on one of my really old, never wear the thing, hidden in my closet since 2008 Jean Blazer. It was old and outdated and I wanted to find a way to bring it back to life. And here is what I came with, unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to take any before pictures and realized it after I added the iron on nail heads. But just picture a really outdated jean blazer. Hope You guys like it.

Materials:

• 1 pkg of 10mm Hotfix Pyramid Nailheads Item# 43988 in Antique Gold (1.800.9.MJTRIM)
• 1 Hammered Metal Button Item# 39747 in Old Brass
• 1 4.5″X3.25″ Beads Bullion Crest Itme# 44702 (1.800.9.MJTRM)
• Iron
• Needle and Thread
• Cheese  Grater or scissors

Directions:

• Step1: Apply the iron nail heads on to the collar of the jackets, and I also added some nailheads by the pockets. (Tutorial for Iron-on Nailheads coming soon!!!)
• Step2: Sew on your button
• Step3: Use a Cheese grater to distress the jean blazer – Tutorial here
• Step4: Sew on the applique in desired location.

Everyone always sees the adorable little girl throwing petals on the floor. Brides also need to worry about what to put on their flower girls. You can create your own head band for your flower girl using ribbon and crystals with these easy steps.

Materials:

• 1/2 yd of 2 1/4 Poly Satin Ribbon, Ivory Style# 00318 (1.800.9.mjtrim)

Directions:

• Take the 1/2 yard of satin ribbon and glue it the headband to cover the plastic, cut the the ends to make them shorter, then glue the ends to the inside.
• Take the 1/2 yard of organza ribbon and glue it straight in the middle of the headband. Cut a little of the ends, leave some left over to glue the ends on the inside of the headband.
• take the metallic cord, cut 4 pieces even pieces (about 3 1/2 inches long), take the belt and swoop the pieces through, as a belt and glue the the ends on to the headband.
• take the other pieces of jewels and scatter them as you wish on each side of the head band.

Finding your perfect shoe for your perfect wedding dress can be somewhat difficult. Your either have to have that special luck at finding the perfect shoes for the half the price of what there worth or you have to spend a fortune. So what better way to get those shoes than to do an easy DIY, by making your own shoe with Swarovski buttons. You can take a plain shoe and make it pop out. Here are some inspirations. We’ve bought a pair of inexpensive white shoes and dressed them up with beautiful Swarovski buttons.

Buttons used:

• 2 Frosted Light Sapphire/ Silver button, 48L/30mm Style#19760
• 2 Crystal/Silver Button, 36 mm Style # 19838
• 2 Light Colorado Topaz Button, 48L/30mm Style# 40731

Materials

• Semi-Flush Cutter, Style # 44059 (1.800.9.mjtrim)

• Hot Glue Gun, Style# 42007

Directions:

• First use the flush cutter to cut the shanks of the buttons
• apply hot glue on the shoe and a little on the button and stick it on the shoe.
• wait for it to dry, move the button to see if its glued on there good.

Refashion your old jacket with some modern buttons. It’s time to start saving and wearing what you already own. And an easy way to do that is by updating your old jacket with some new buttons, something so simple makes all of the difference. That’s what I did with my pea-coat below, I changed my old black w/ red line simple buttons with new pyramid buttons. And I love the look!

Japan’s Spring Fashion Week was incredible! Designers such as Araisara, Corazon Del Alma, and GVGV used beautiful bright and colorful prints perfect for the Spring Season. GVGV also used an assortment of trims to create their belts which included pom-pom fringe, ric-rac, and tape trim. Hiroko Koshino showed artful work with a beautiful gowns and printed metallic stockings. Miss Ashida was an all time favorite not sticking to one theme for the collection but rather mixed with interesting prints, light colors, tweed fabric and statement accessories. Japan’s fashion week was definitely a hit for Spring, can’t wait to see some of these fabulous pieces on some well respected fashionista’s.

Halloween, a day where you’re anything or anyone you want be! A day where you can let your inner self shine and a day to enjoy a lot of candy without feeling guilty. But before the 31st it’s all about creating your costume. And DIY’s are the best ones of course, and since we’re all goo goo for Gaga we made some inspired masks by the one and only Lady Gaga. Happy DIY’s

Mask 1: Maison Michels Inspired Bunny EarsMask 1: Maison Michels Inspired Bunny Ears

Materials:

• (Bunny Ears) 14″ Estretch Eyelash Lace Style# 81164001
• (Draped over eyes) Rigid Lace Style# 37076002 -Black
• Headband
• Hot glue gun
• Wire
• Needle and Black Thread

Directions:

• Step 1- Shape out your bunny ears and twist the ends (you will use this end to loop it around the headband for a strong hold)
• Step 2- Take a piece of your lace (make sure it’s wider and longer than your bunny ears) now sew and the lace to the wire, be sure to go slow and keep the shape of the bunny ears. Then do the other ear.
• Step 3- Cut out around the ears, snipping off the extra lace. Then take the twisted ends of the ears and loop it around the headband.
• Step 4- Take the scraps of the lace and wrap it around the headband and glue the ends for a finishing touch.
• Step 5-Take the rigid lace and measure it to fit on the upper half of your face, then cut it and glue just the top of the ends to the headband and your finished with the top half of your costume.

Mask 2:

Materials:

• 1 pack of SS20 Black Diamond Rhinestones, Style# 03020
• 1 pack of SS20 Jet Hematite Rhinestones, Style# 03020
• 4.5 inches of Metal Bar Chain, Gunmetal Style# 39533
• 1/2 yd of 6 Row Plastic Square Trim, Silver Style# 44401
• 1/2 yd of 6 Row Plastic Square Trim, Black Style# 44401
• E6000 Glue, Style# 37777

Directions:

• Step 1: Take the 4.5 inches of the chain and glue is in the middle of the mask, glue it so it’s going across.
• Step 2: Cut the plastic square trim in large pieces, glue them where you desire.
• Step 3: When you glue the large pieces of the square trim, there will be smaller empty spaces in which you will need to glue trim on, take small pieces of the trim and glue them (not around the eyes)
• Step 4: When done gluing the pieces trim, take the rhinestones glue them around the eyes, glue black diamond on one side and jet hematite on the other.
